  • i Do you require coverage for Contact Sports, Adventure Sports, or Extreme Sports?

    Unless a sport or activity is listed in the Contact Sports, Adventure Sports or Extreme Sports Optional Coverages or in the Exclusions, the applicant is automatically covered for sports or activities on their Emergency Medical Insurance plan, whether they are professional or amateur.

    If the applicant is planning on participating in any sports or activities during their trip, please review the list of sports and activities in the Optional Coverages to determine if they would like to purchase coverage.

    The Optional Coverages can only be purchased with an Emergency Medical Insurance plan and will cover hospital and medical expenses incurred while the applicant is participating, coaching, teaching, training or practicing in any of the sports or activities specified in the applicable Optional Coverage. The applicant can purchase one or multiple Optional Coverages, depending on the sports or activities they plan on doing.

    This Optional Coverage is only required if the applicant is 18 years and over and is participating, coaching, teaching, training or practicing on behalf of a registered team, league, association or club, or while competing in a registered tournament, competition or sporting event.

Are you eligible for coverage?
At the time of application, you are eligible for coverage if:
  1. You are not travelling against a physician’s advice.
  2. You have not been diagnosed with a terminal condition.
  3. You are not receiving palliative care or palliative care has not been recommended.
